Moustache 100 Se-Deluxe (Thijs van der Harst)
Here we have a beautiful Selmer style guitar made by luthier Thijs van der Harst, who happens to be living right here in Breda! These days Thijs builds a broad variety of instruments under his own name, but he initially started out building gypsy jazz guitars under the name Moustache Guitars. This particular instrument is really something special as it’s the 100th guitar Thijs made, and it’s luxuriously adorned and build to high standards using nothing but the finest materials available.
The top is made of European spruce while the back and sides are made of mahogany which is skillfully laminated with beautiful AAA grade Indian rosewood. The neck is made from walnut and the body and ebony fretboard are bound with purpleheart wood which really compliments the classy look of this wonderful instrument. As for the hardware, the guitar is fitted with excellent Swiss made Miller tuners and a Miller tailpiece, and is equipped with a great sounding Pure Acoustic under-saddle pickup.
Pick up this guitar and you’ll immediately notice how incredibly light it is! This translates to an impressively resonant instrument with a loud voice which is very responsive to every nuance of your playing. In terms of playability, well this is definitely one if not the smoothest playing acoustic instruments I’ve had in the shop. It has a 674mm scale lenght common for a petite bouche Selmer model and is setup with a set of 011’s.
